One very relaxing Friday

Mowing the front yard early this morning was one hot and sweaty job. But after doing it I had the satisfaction of knowing I had one of the nicer looking lawns in the neighborhood. The recent rainy days followed by steamy heat kept most of us inside while the grass kept growing.

I told Sylvia last night that mowing the yard early today was going to be one of my Friday chores. When I walked her out to her car this morning as she was leaving for work, we saw Fred, our neighbor two doors down, already mowing his lawn. I told her that when he saw me mowing our lawn after she drove away he’d probably think I was trying to keep up with him, but I reminded her that I told her last night I was planning to do it.

After my lawn work was done and I put the mower away, I was hot and sweaty, of course, but I was also VERY relaxed. And that relaxation has stayed with me all day, I’m happy to say.
