Last night’s insomnia.

Do you remember me saying yesterday how surprisingly good I was feeling? Both health-wise and in my attitude? Well, that was yesterday. And today I’m singing a different tune.

For most of my life I’ve dealt with chronic insomnia. In recent years that has abated a bit. But every once in a while it hits me again. Last night was one of those whiles.

I put head to pillow at 11:00 p.m. Not an unusual time for me, though earlier is always better. When I woke at 2:00 a.m. I though I’d just head to the bathroom, do my business, and return to bed and more restful sleep. Wrong-o.

When I returned to bed sleep was nowhere to be found. Finally at 4:00 a.m. I headed to my home office, fired up a computer, and surfed the Internet. The eyelids got heavy after half an hour and I went back to bed to grab a few winks before the 5:00 a.m. roused me. Groggy and only half awake I shuffled into my morning chores.

I’ve been semi-zombiefied since then. Hoping for a much needed nap that has yet to come.

No, this Thursday has not been one of my better days. Maybe if I can doze off now….
